Month by month rundown of 2003
Dec. 31st, 2003 07:31 pmJanuary
Was a particularly turbulent time for me in terms of job satisfaction. Not a lot more occupied my thoughts or journal entries.
There was the Counting Crows gig, which despite the poor venue was fantastic.
February
This was the month that I went to a Jackass liveshow and lost what little respect I ever had for my now-ex-housemate.
March
Wow. Seeing this month's summary reminds me of what tripe I write. A couple of
insignificant events, though nothing worth linking to here.
April
Visited my dad in Portsmouth before he set sail for the eatern med.
M+G announced plans to move out (boo to the first, yay to the second) so I was potentially able to look for people to form a geekhousehold.
May
Almost lost* my thumb, rediscovered mountain dew. The most significant event was The Birthday Bash where I met loads of new LiveJournal people. I don't get to see some of you nearly often enough, but you help keep me sane.
June
My first audio entry and several months before LiveJournal announced their own facility to do the same :-)
Thought I'd found somewhere to live, but it turns out I was tempting fate.
Went to a funky BBQ at
tax's place where a few of us went on a midnight stroll from Bollington to almost Partington and back, a round trip of 8 miles (I think).
July
My first IRC meetup and saw my Dad and stepmum before they left to go sailing round the world.
Also had one of those life-changing occurances, though for undesirable reasons.
Went to the Air Guitar Championships.
August
Went to BiCon, another life-changing event. Sadly I didn't write it up but several small yet significant events happened.
Finally moved house. It's very cramped having come to a flat from a house, but despite the expense I like living here. It's close to work and my friends and it's easy to travel around Manchester.
September
Generally a good month. Went to see a lot of live music - A Perfect Circle and a few local bands.
October
Went to London for
faerierhona's birthday for the weekend, also managed to catch up with my sister.
Had a bit of a health scare. redisovered mountain dew. Got drunk for the first and only time this year.
November
Went to Germany. Quite an ausming story; I'd booked the days of work before knowing that I wanted to go somewhere at the time not having decided exactly where. The day before I left I announced somewhat off-handedly that I was going to Germany. So I did :-)
This was the month I received 400 text messages in a single evening and lived to tell the tale.
December
Fell way behind with updating my journal, having made maybe 3 bursts of backdated entries. (Still got to do the one I mentioned here
After many setbacks, finally went on the training course for the APAUSE program. Made contact with a long-lost relative. Met up with a couple of friends I knew in my first year at uni. Re-discovered 80s TV cheese. Had a dream which I still think about, even now. It's had a surprisingly profound effect on me. had some fucking fantastic news - and there's more. I'll write about that later though, as I'm about to head out to the party at
david's place.
Wow. That took a while to write. And I while to read, I'm sure ;-)
Have a great New Year, whatever you're doing.
