What seemingly small events have since turned out to have a profound and/or long-lasting effect on your life?
The one which comes to my mind is helping a mate clean out his loft on new years day 1996. I found one of his books on bellringing and thought it looked interesting. I've been involved ever since and now help to run weekly learner sessions.
I've thought of another one of similar magnitude. In 1998, I think, I went to a workshop at Manchester Uni run by
softfruit. About a year or so later I was round a mate's house and one of his neighbours was there, and she recognised me from the workshop. She handed me contact details of a Manchester bi group and from there I found myself involved in the UK bi community and with many of the friends I now hang around with.
