Above I mentioned that I was referred to see someone else following on from my MRI scan. I actually knew him from my exposure to the NF association, so that was a happy coincidence. He has referred me for a PET scan. This is to find out the growth rate of the tissue and to determine whether or not it needs to be removed sooner rather than later (or at all). I'm still waiting for that appointment to come through.
Anyway, today I got a call from him saying he'd been approached by Mentorn, the production company, who wish to make a documentary about people with NF tumours. I've always been happy to haev student doctors present during my experiences with NF so that they can learn, and to take part in patient research and so was interested in the prospect and told him so.
(Just to blow my own trumpet for a bit: He said that
A few minutes ago I got the phonecall from the guy and am about to go for a drink with him to chat and it turns out he's in Manchester today, so I'm heading off shortly.
I'll eventually go back and links all these posts together to make an easy reference. Not now though; I'm going to jump in to the shower and head off out.
