I left work early on Wednesday to get the train down to Peterborough, for the passport office. There were no appointments at london, and going to Liverpool would be cutting it too close. I made it to Peterborough around 9 n the evening, and got to the passport office in good time for my 8.30am appointment.
They said 4 hours on the webiste, but the guy at the counter said it's often less than that, abd it was. 2hrs 50 minutes later I had my passport. I got to Gatwick around 2pm and all was good.
choric met me around an hour later, and at 11pm (.hu time) we had arrived.
go to the passport office about an hour before it opens with everthing standing by. If you camp there all day you should be able to a passport by the end of the day. Make sure you show them your tickets as this will let them know you aren't bs'ing about needing a passport fast.
Wait, and be very polite. If they don't like you thats passport gone...
(lost passport and tickets night before traveling, filled in forms and booked flight via Ryan on Wednesday, got passport Thursday, caught flight on Saturday)
