That's a neat effect. Trying to achieve a multiple exposure like this with a real camera would be quite tricky.
Using essentially poor features of a camera to great effect is nothing new. The most famous are probably using a Lomo (which has turned into an art form with other cameras, too) or Holga. Usually you don't want vignetting and hard chromatic aberration but the combination of both in this camera combined with some darkroom skills (plus using expired film and cross-processing) results in images that look like heavily filtered photoshop manips.

- Excellent advert. Shame really, I like that sort of bush. ;)
