I've done not a lot. I've been doing far too much recently, and the next few weekends will be manic too, including Whitby, Leicester and packing for the housemove. As such I'm keeping a couple of weekends free of not even going clubbing, just bimbling around and doing not a lot of consequence.
This morning was ringing and the head guy was away for family reasons. This means that I was in charge, and though we had a lot of visitors and it didn't go badly, it just didn't go how I'd hoped. Noone in the congregation noticed, so that's all that matters I guess.
Then I bimbled around Camden, got heavily rained on but didn't buy anything. I was going to go to the cat shelter in Archway yesterday didn't, and ended up going this afternoon instead. Spent a lovely couple of hours there trying not to fall in love with them all. There was one cat who was very badly mistreated He had bleach poured over him and pegs put on his ears. It really makes me angry how some people can be so malitious. Still, he was content enough and even a little playful when I was giving him attention.
I picked up an application form to house one. Rar - can't wait for the housemove when I'll be able to be around cats again. Just 5 weeks to go now.

Date: 2006-10-22 10:39 pm (UTC)That's what came through my mind. Though on reflection a quote from Gandhi comes to mind:
But yes, pointless to the extreme. To what end was it done?

Due to your completion being imminent I'm not moving from here till you're done. So don't be long now.
Did you get the SMS yesterday? Re Whitby.

Date: 2006-10-22 10:46 pm (UTC)Completion isn't yet confirmed - it could all still go arse up, but indications are good that it'll go ahead as we expect. Just thought I ought to let you know.
And I did get the details - thanks. I shall call tomorrow evening, all being well.

Date: 2006-10-22 10:44 pm (UTC)What I might ask is that the dribs and drabs that don't fit in the van (e.g. a rucksack of clothes or books or CDs) be transported over. I've got 10 days after the proposed completion over which to move stuff. I'll let you know when I've decided that'll be, though it'll be after the move itself as by then I'll know what did and what did not fit.

Date: 2006-10-23 08:13 am (UTC)Poor baby!
I'm so sorry I couldn't make it - by the time I'd gotten home and showered (was soaked through from rain and sweat from riding >_<) it was nearly 3pm, and it takes me 20 mins to get the bus to archway then 5-10 mins to walk to the shelter, so i'd have been there about 30 mins before it closed!
Aiming to do this weekend sometime but not sure because i'm seeing my Dad friday in Essex and going to a Halloween party thing on saturday night, but aiming to go Sunday afternoon vaguely!
