I haven't yet written about the kite festival. [livejournal.com profile] mrk and I went headed over to Streatham after Sunday service ringing at church. The weather was disappointingly poor, though we at least managed to fly the kite for about 10 minutes.

Wandered around the stalls and stayed maybe 2 hours, then headed home. I'm waiting for a windy day so I can take it out and fly it for a prolonged period.

Anyway, it means I've completed another task on my 101 in 1001 list:
77. Fly a kite

Oh, so it was *you*!

I flew a kite last week, a funkay dragon shaped one. And then I got home and thought.. "not sure but I think that's on my 101/1001 list" and wasted five minutes of my life looking for it

XD

Hello! I'm Jess, we met at BU tonight. I was going to comment and say hello on your more recent post, but I saw this and went eee, kites! I am a kite nerd due to managing a kite/toy store for some four years, y'see. And I'm annoyed because I actually skipped the kite festival for lack of anyone to go with, and lack of any kites here. Pity you weren't on my friendslist thingy then. Now I've dragged back four kites with me from the states (including a nifty flexifoil power kite), and so if you ever have a jones for more kite flying, you know where to find me. ;)

Oh yes, and I also meant to say: I'm doing a 101 in 1001 list, too! I need to cross a few more things off it these days, though. It's been awhile since I updated.

I have a flexifoil too - it's the 10ft 2-line kite. Do you have any 4-lines? Ive' only seen them but not played with them yet - they look easier to fly in light winds.

I don't, alas. I covet a 4-line power kite (or, better still, a revolution), but for the moment I have to content myself with 2. Though I do possess (back home) an ultralight 2-line, which flies in 0-10 MPH of wind. Though "flies" may be the wrong word; it's more like it "wafts."
