Dinner - European style

I cooked dinner again this evening. I enjoy preparing food, but don't do as much as I'd like. Tonight's delight was Vennison steaks with a red wine gravy. Sorry, robinbloke and hardened meat eaters, but I added some veg to it also.
By this time the meat should be ready. Check it's cooked throughout and serve.
My culinary knowledge isn't that great, but I think it's the sort of thing which might be typical of France/Belgium.
One of these days I'll sort put some of the recipes I have online. And for geek factor, I'll add a "verbosity" setting whereby it will give varying amounts of detail, depending on your confidence in the kitchen :-)
- Grill some vennison steaks under a medium heat. (Takes about 20 minutes)
- Bring a pain of water to the boil and add 250g or so of baby potatoes. (Pre-chop them into chunks of roughly 1" big to reduce the cooking time to 15 mins ish). Drain when done.
- Melt a large knob of butter in a frying pan, and add the potatoes with some roughly chopped chives and parsley. Let the butter boil and softly caramelise. Put them to one side. (If you have a hot plate then put it in a serving dish, and keep it warm on that)
- Put a generous half-pint of red wine in a pan, and put it on a medium heat.
- Roughly chop a small onion and gently fry it. Before it caramelises, add the onions to the wine. Add also a couple of peeled cloves of garlic.
- Chop and fry a red bell pepper (capsicum).
By this time the meat should be ready. Check it's cooked throughout and serve.
