Dream I awoke from

I think this is the first dream I've written about in this journal. I'll try not to make a habit of it.

Anyway, the details:
I dreamt that I had a daughter! Details are hazy - I either didn't know, or now don't remember: her name or my wife / the mother. She'd been dressed in a loose fit pale t-shirt of some sort and I was at a BBQ in what I think was the back garden of a house I nearly rented a few months back. She was perhaps 2 or 3 but still loved to sleep in my arms like a baby.


That's about all I remember.

I don't want children but have had dreams a few times where I've had a child - bit freaky, especially the one where I dreamt I'd had a child and given it to a colleague to look after; the child was now 3 or 4 and I wanted to ask for it back but didn't know how to bring the subject up or whether I should ask since the child was happy.

I remember being confused in the dream, in that I didn't know how she'd come to be, just that she was my daughter.

When I awoke I felt a little bit sad that it wasn't real, and in need of a hug. (Perhaps because that part of the dream was centred around physical reinforcement). I usually take dreams for what they are, i.e. just dreams, but this one was a little different.

I've been feeling broody on and off for several months now - perhaps this is my subconscious mind's way of reinforcing this :-/
