How comes you are working xmas day? I'm on call (to fix anything in case it breaks), and also have to do four hours work in the office answering support queries.
Have a non-traditional xmas dinner - go down to Rusholme and have a damn fine curry That's what I'd like to do - I just need to find someone who'll be in Manchester and willing to go with me.
Our family actually did that a couple of years back - except we had take-away. The following year we did the same, but with Chinese.
I hate Christmas I hate the commericalism of it. I'd much rather it was a holiday, with a stronger focus on the social aspect. I enjoy that, but sometimes feel (as someone pointed out in their own LJ; I forget who) that they're people we socialise with because they're family rather than because we're friends with them, or emotionally close to them. Not that I hate any of my family, but some of the relationships sometimes seem forced. Perhaps I'm just a cynic.
