Went for a drink tonight in The Royal Oak, and for a rare change I was drinking. Met up with
bluehelen and
silkyraven (who, it turns out, knows someone I used to work with and also an old school friend). It really is a small world.
Popped out to get some cash, though in the vicinity could only find a pay-for-use withdrawl machine. I reluctantly used it though it failed to work, claiming my PIN was incorrect.
Later on others turned up, though due to the volume we soon decided to head off and get food. On a whim I tried using an offical Lloyds-TSB machine that we'd passed only to find that my card had been blocked. I can perhaps understand miskeying a PIN once, and grudgingly a second time, but 3 times just seems out of the question, particularly as I have had that card and PIN for a long time. This would have to happen at a weekend when access to banks is scarce. A lucky thing I now live in London where opening times are longer at the weekend. I shall moan at the bank, and I've made a note of the company and location of the suspect machine.
Sorry for ditching you, guys. I just didn't feel relaxed enough after a shitty week and work and then the issue with the bank card.
