My weekend
Nov. 28th, 2005 02:20 amInternet has been a bit b0rky for much of the weekend, hence not being online much.
Friday: went to the Waterhouse with
_phurturatica_ for
fruit_boy's birthday. We hung around for a bit but saw noone and could raise noone via text and as we were both hungry headed over to the Number 1 Oriental Buffet. Nyommy. Not at all authentic, but lovely anyway. Peking duck++
Then we went to the cinema, aiming to see
The Exorcism Of Emily Rose but they had sold out so we looked at the remaining choices and went for the rather random sounding Flight Plan.
It was great. I've seen quite a few contrained plot films: Cube (and the sequel and prequel) and Phonebooth
As was expected there were a number of twists and turns. There was one false ending, but I'm glad it wasn't the ending as it would have been very cliched. Anyway, I'll not spoil the meal any more
Saturday: did a bit of house hunting and found a few prospective places.
Rebooted the ADSL modem and that cured the problems we were experiencing (~35% packet loss at my ISP). I don't know enough about ADSL to know why that worked, but it seems to be necessary every 4 months or so.
Watched far too much ST:TNG,as I now have all of series 7. Just 2 and 6 to get now, and then I have the whole lot.
Sunday: Simon moved out today, though he'll be popping back occasionally to pick stuff up. It's a start to an end, as the rest of use will be moving out in due course. The year (well, 13+ months) in this house have gone so quickly. things'll be different, that's for sure. Speaking of accommodation,
mrk announced today that he's looking for somewhere to live in London, in a similar sort of area to me (Camden, ish).
I pondered going to London today to go to the VNV Nation gig, but didn't have a ticket and didn't feel like heading down only to be nable to source one in time. A shame, as I'd liked to have seen them. Iv'e passed over too many gigs recently, but I keep hearing about events too late. (well, that and having a job which consumed my evenings making gig attendance difficult)
Also did a bit of LJ bug squishing and tweaked my layout a little.
