I had an MRI scan earlier this morning. It was all quite cool and interesting - I asked and was told that the magnet that facility has was 3T in strength. Makes me glad tht I got a PTFE retainer for my piercing. Which reminds me - on the "do any of the following apply to you" declaration form that I filled in, the question of piercings was noticably absent.

The first lot of scans didn't show enough detail so I was given a gandolinium injection of some sort (I don't remember much - and I can't find sensible Google terms) but it was about 50cc of a clear liquid, and then they did a shorter scan.

I was wearing ear defenders and had my eyes closed (because it was disconcerting having the panels of the chamber a few inches from my face) and this sensory deprivation made me feel dizzy a little, which is odd because I was lying down at the time. Perhaps it was just the headspace, even though I wasn't that nervous. (I was more anxious to know the result rather than of the procedure itself; I had done a lot of research and ascertained it wasn't anything to worryu about)

Anyway, I'm told that I'll receive the results in about 2-3 weeks.
