My weekend

A somewhat delayed write-up.

Saturday: Was working. Was quite sleep-deprived, having not got much sleep due to a call-out at 6am. Then went to see [livejournal.com profile] softfruit and had a very pleasant evening chatting about

Sunday:
Went to see [livejournal.com profile] dineleeeee in Whalley Range for JOTI/JOTA. Turns out it's the same place where I helped out with the NRAE training 5 years ago so I was recognised by a couple of the people.

Would likes to have contacted [livejournal.com profile] hoopycat via IRLP but the local node was in use. Some other time, perhaps. Oh, and I've been out of touch with the amatuer radio community for so long I didn't even know that the license was code-free. This means I now have access to HF. I'll renew my license, in that case. (I let it lapse about 4 or 5 years ago, and never got around to renewing it) 'Twas lots of geeky fun.

Then I went to the filmsoc where I used to do projection to see how they're getting on this year. Turns out that the society isn't running anymore. That's a big surprise. I think this must be the first year in 20 (or so) that it's not run.

Today and tomorrow: off work - that was gong to be for the APAUSE training I mentioned recently but it was cancelled, so I'm at a loose endfor a couple of days.

Today I've done nothing other than watch a film (Jackass: The Movie) and spod online.

[livejournal.com profile] sythic - are you still interested in going to the cinema tomorrow? Anyone else? (It'll have to be before 7pm because I'm busy in the evening)

but I'm arranging to see my Nf specialist to have a growth on my leg checked out.

Timeline of the story at: http://www.livejournal.com/users/matthewp/157130.html

The back of my upper right leg is noticably larger and is a lot more sensitive to pressure than my other leg. I've been aware of it for a couple of months but thought I would give it time, in case it was a pulled muscle or trapped nerve or similar. Interestingly, it's not red or warm to the touch). I've no accellerated hair growth which is common for neuroribromas and (AIUI) plexi-forms, but the senstivity naturally makes me think it's neurological in nature.

Thinking back, it must have been there a while because one of the people I work with is face-blind, and he tell me that he recognises me by my walk, and we met about 2 or 3 years ago. Plus, I have occasionally been asked if I have a limp. I guess I do ;-), only perhaps now it's more pronounced.

I count myself lucky that I've been "outwardly" affected so little by Nf, but this has me concerned enough to see someone about it.

Just so you know.
