I went to the Suede gig at the Academy with

poisonlipsterar and a mate, C, from uni. It was very good; somewhere around 2,000 people must've attended.
The encore was fantastic; Bret Anderson played a solo which was beautiful, though I forget the name of the song he played.
The support consisted of 2 bands; one guy who started off solo and quite poor ended up with the rest of his band showing a lot of promise (sounding like early Badly Drawn Boy), and the second band were fantastic. They went under the name Gemma Hayes (the name of the lead singer) and sounded a bit like Alanis Morissette, but I expect she knew what irony is ;-)
I realised just how much I miss going to huge gigs; I can't wait to see The Levellers, The Cranberries and The Counting Crows over the next few months.
