I've just finised my first shift at easyEverything, an internet cafe in Manchester city center.

I also just realised that I didn't take one of my 30 minute breaks.

Next one 11pm tonight 'til the same time, 0730 Wed morning.

holy shit

I was spodding in easyEverything after my shift finished when a girl behind me collapsed. She looked about 20 years old. She'd overdosed on paracetamol - about 20 or so. We could'nt get any form of repsonse from her, not even a murmur. We looked through her things to find a name.

I put her things in a bag, keeping the pills separate to make it easier for the medics to see the packaging.

The ambulanced was called and her breathing got more and more shallow. She started trembling just as the paramedic walked in. It felt like an hour waiting for him to appear.

SHe started to recover quite quicklly - she puked it all up and cried a bit, but still wouldn't open her eyes. Eventually another paramedic arrived with a stretcher and she was carried off.

I'm still shaking, though part of that will be the excess of caffeine I've consumed over the past few hours :-/

she's ok

I walked home to get to sleep, but couldn't because I was so worried. I decided to walk back to the MRI to find out about her. UNfortunately (but also understandably) I wasn't able to see her, but the A&E worker said that she was OK. What exactly she meant by this, I don't know; she hadn't regained consciousness when she was taken out of easySpod on the trolley. Though I pretty much knew she'd be OK since she puked it all up.

On my way out I saw Darren, an ex-tutor of Slems, my old hall of residence. I guess I'll see him around since AFAIK he too goes to slems for the occasional drink.

hmmm, caffeine overdose

I woke up shaking this evening :-) Too much caffeine at work last night.

I actually drank a cup of coffee and for the first time didn't find it repulsive. I may become a hardened coffee drinker yet.

Dave (one of my housemates) and I cooked dinner tonight. 'Twas nothing special; only rice and chicken in a stir-fry sauce. While eating I realised I'd not eaten a proper meal in that house for something like a week *g*.
