Woo. It was fun. There were LOADS of delectable livejournaller's there, so I was pleased that I chose to wear my LiveJournal T-shirt.
Much hugs from
poisonlipstarer which was nice.
Also managed some star-gazing and picked out the plough, despite all the light pollution. Even managed to spot a satellite.
Spoke to
dineleeeee on the phone for a bit, who was on Orkney waiting for the partial solar eclipse. Weird; I don't remember hearing there was due to be one, and it's not the kind of thing which normally escapes me.
Lots of people were new; those that I met were
adcott,
hannah_honey,
revraven and
sheeshkebab. I'm sure there must have been more though. There were 5 Matts there which caused much confusion at times, especially as more alcohol was consumed.
Whilst on that subject, that reminds me. I had half a conversation with
hannah_honey (I think) about alcohol, our reasons for not drinking, and the different kind of drunkard that people become. Sadly that conversation was cut short by (somewhat ironically) two drunkards hearing part of the conversation and having a misunderstanding. *sigh*
Around 11pm I decided that I was hungry, so wandered of to get pizza and came back. Not surprisingly everyone flocked around me -)
Had much too much chocolate cake which was yummy, but a bit much on top of pizza.
( A less than bouncy matthewp )
Oh, and
nozza - I think it was you who expressed interest in my oscilloscope. Let me know when you want it and I'll drop it round. No cost either; it's just taking up room and I cna't justify
charging for an old 30MHz valve-driven dinosaur.
All in all, it was a good night. Such a wonderful group of people; I really ought to make an effort to meet up more often.
*gasp* It's horribly hot and humid and I've worked 9-5 today.

My user bio

I want to re-write my user bio. I'm going to shamelessly copy the idea seen on several other people's journals where I invite each of you to make a comment about me.
Naturally, I'll pick and choose the ones I want :-)
