I think having short hair makes me look younger than I do with long hair. (I don't mind either way, but I do very much prefer the hassle-free nature of a grade 3)
Today I signed up to LinkedIn, applied for a few jobs and ate left over curry. I shall shortlyonce I've got dressed be heading out to the pub for Bi Underground. Who else is going?

I keep saying I'll update and then not getting around to it
I found myself pondering the past few days closing my account but I soon realised I'd miss it if I did. So I'm still here.
Things are going quite well despite my recent silence.
A thought for you all:
Sometimes it's hard to speak out. Sometimes it's even harder to keep quiet.

Fame and celebrity
Lightreaders of or newcomers to my journal might not be aware of my late 2004 health scare. (Summary: had a tumour, got given the all clear, was on TV about it). I just had a phonecall from a journal who wants to write a magazine article on Neurofibromatosis, and she'd been put in contact with me. I was looking forward to it because it's a differnt media and much easier to control the content. In the end we decided that I wasn't suitable for the style of article she was writing, but she might well have something suitable coming up.
ION I have much to write about, but shall wait until I have more time than just a lunch break to invest in writing a detailed post.
Might as well, since everyone* else is doing it:

101 in 1001 progress
flist spam ftw.
I've made a bit of progress with my 101 in 1001 list in recent weeks, but haven't got around to posting yet due to work being insanely busy and moving house (which is an item in itself, or rather 2 items, I'm pleased to say)
13. Do some private tuition
I'd actually done this a few months ago but hadn't got around to marking it off. I've done private KS3 tuition for a guy in Highbury, IT office admin for a friend's mum and also remote coaching in computer science for
megashrike.
19. Have bought a house
This has to be one of the biggest achievements of this year. It's my place and I can trash it if I want to. Finally a place of my own that I can decorate in my own way, and eventually get a cat. (That's an item too, but hasn't happened yet so I can't mark it off)
20. Move to somehwere bigger
This follows on from 19, but I included it in case I only managed to move somewhere that I was renting rather than going the whole hog and purchasing.
46. Have a candlelit dinner
The meal in Garlic and Shots was candlelit, so this counts.
62. Host/attend a themed party
My brother's 30th birthday 2 weeks ago had a dress code of "Something beginning with the first letter of your first name". I won't say what I went as yet - I'll get the photos uploaded so you can laugh at me in another post
71.Throw out at least of two boxes of crap that seem to keep following me around when I move house
I did this whilst packing before the move, so it was around 9th December.
73. Create my personal website
I've done this - it's my surname followed by either .com or .co.uk. I'd rather not post the full domain name here as it's a public post.
91. Try at least 5 new fruit or vegetables
Last night I tried celeriac and liked it. I'll upload a recipe at some point - it's not hard but it'd be useful for reference.
I'll come back at some point when I have more time and find out the exact dates. Not that many of you will care that much, but I'd like to add it for completeness

today^Wyesterday in brief
Camden was ace, bmovie was ace. Gloucester tomorrow, but methinks I'll need more than the 3 hours sleep I'll be getting. Photos and more in-depth writeups to follow, along with some introspection.
(ooh- I've not made such a post in a while.)

This afternoon
Here's a backdated entry to sneak in.
I read on UA that the Leveller had played in Manchester and I'd annoyingly missed out. I checked their tour diary and foud out that they were later playing in London, so I called up the box office and found out that there were still spaces, though sadly standing.
They were awesome, as they usually are, though I wasn't over impressed with the venue. Maybe it was where I was standing - at the back of the upper gallery.

The weekend that started on Wednesday
I don't have the energy to make a write-up now. Suffice to say my weekend was excellent and consisted mainly of not-sleeping. I'll make a proper write-up tomorrow (well, today).
