Consequentiality

What seemingly small events have since turned out to have a profound and/or long-lasting effect on your life?

The one which comes to my mind is helping a mate clean out his loft on new years day 1996. I found one of his books on bellringing and thought it looked interesting. I've been involved ever since and now help to run weekly learner sessions.

I've thought of another one of similar magnitude. In 1998, I think, I went to a workshop at Manchester Uni run by [livejournal.com profile] softfruit. About a year or so later I was round a mate's house and one of his neighbours was there, and she recognised me from the workshop. She handed me contact details of a Manchester bi group and from there I found myself involved in the UK bi community and with many of the friends I now hang around with.

I remember you did a meme a while ago and you wanted to learn to knit. If you send me your address to G_E_M_Z_1@yahoo.co.uk I'll send you really easy and understandable instructions. Otherwise I can teach you the next time you are in manc! YOu could stay here!!!!!!!

xXx

I already know how to knit. You might've been remembering me wanting to knit an item of clothing or to have a knitting party in a nightclub - which are items in my 101 in 1001 list.

I'm not particularly quick, but I can do most basic patterns. I can decrease OK, it's things like cords, buttonholes and increasing that I can't do yet. I'm a long way off that though - I want to improve my speed before working on complex techniques. It would be fab to see you though - it's been an ange since we last met up. It'll probably be after the new year as I'm super-manic with the house move at the mo.
