Air gig

This was my first gig at the Apollo. The venue wasn't excellent - being an old cinema (and presumably theatre judging by the gold trimmings on the ceiling) the floor sloped downwards slightly.

It was an unusual experience - this was the first non-bouncy gig that I'd ever been to. I would so liked to have gone to Sigur Ros and Belle And Sebastian when they were playing, but wasn't able to attend for whatever reason.

The music itself was fantastic and the lighting was awesome. My favourite part was the dobule-tempo rendition of Kelly Reach The Stars.

At the end I saw T (who I work with) and C. (I'd not seen his text message annoucing his presence because I'd left my phone at home). We looked at the sound and lighting decks and they we really quite special.

Having got home I chatted to a few people on MSN and pondered going to jillys, but by the time I had eaten I was so tired that I just went to sleep. I woke up just under an hour ago.

Plan for the day:
get dressed, buy caffeine (I've run out), eat, bowling at 6, curry

Jillys was really fun last night! We saw loadsa people we knew! Would have been good if u'd came! I've gots mostdef round tonight so I dont think I'll be meetin up anywhere! Have fun bowling! Glad the concert was good!

I quite like the Apollo, it has similar qualities to the ballroom-ness of the Ritz. The sloping floor can be quite handy, it means if you move towards the back it is easier to see the stage. My only complaint is the situation of the back bar, the metal fencing around it proves for some near crush situations I've found.

Jillys is the *only* place everyone but me in my house will go to. But to be honest I've been mostly coverted to 5th ave of late. Jillys is cool, but kind of worrying at times, where as 5th ave is plain cool.

I'm going to see the Counting Crows at the apollo on Friday, should be good - they're doing a 'best of' show so should include all the classics.

I'm really looking forward to it, their last gig at the MEN was fantastic.

Ah, I was wondering when the gig was. I heard an advert in the taxi earlier this afternoon, but missed the details. I expect they'll have sold out, but I'd like to go if at all possible.

I wonder if Gemma Hayes will be supprting again...
