A weekend of SCIENCE!

I have a plan. Though I say "science", it'll probably just end up with a few of us larking about.
What are you guys doing over the Easter weekend - Good Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday (2nd-5th April).

Inspired by OK Go's latest music video, I wish to make a Rube Goldberg machine.

I have the space in which to build it - there's an old pigeon house at the back of my garden. Currently I'm storing junk in there (old furniture, an exercise bike)

My rough plan is to have the first 2 days for ideas and testing small sections, the next day to build in full and deploy, with the final day as contingency. Come and go as you please, no minimum or maximum duration. Come with some bits that you want to use and a rough idea how you'll lay them out.

This is all likely to evolve as I find out numbers of people. I'll also need someone to film the japery for uploading to youtube.

I may come on Friday or Monday, I'm working Saturday and we always have a family meal on the Sunday (we do 3 a year!). Sounds like great fun, though.

I'd have said Heath Robinson device - I've never heard it called anything else. Wikipedia tells me that practically every nationality/culture has its own term for ludicrously baroque mechanical contraptions.

Oh, that sounds brill. I don't think I have much usable things but I'll have a rummage (hm, an old tea "sock" comes to mind that could be used for catching a ball or something).
Easter is usually my time off everything, both to relax and also because travelling is ususally a pain so I'll probably only be there on the Sunday.
If I don't come up with many contribution ideas, I'd be more than happy to take some photos. Possibly even video, if I decide to get a Flip, after all. My G10 compact sadly only takes SD vids, not HD.

I assume we'd be breaking for Dr. Who? ;)

I'm not at all sure yet what my plans for that weekend are but if it happens that we're available i figure something like that would make the 'what i did in the holidays' write ups a bit more interesting for their teachers to mark!!!

Possibly. I was planning to go to Edinburgh with Rob, but due to a combination of potential trainfail and needing space from one another now, it may not happen. Keep me updated.
