I must do one of these posts sometime - do we have a UK PP number yet, or did you use one of the American ones? If you used a US number, could I ask which and what led you to decide on that one?
There is a UK phone post number though AIUI it's not LiveJournal-official.
I first read about it in pne's journal linked from I-don't-remember-where. I couldn't remember which post and found this post in livredor's journal which contains additional references in the comments.
Last time I tried the UK number it wasn't working so I just picked a random US number and used on of those cheapo international calling card thingies. For that there's an 0800 access number and the US call cost is about 2p/min.
